Heather becomes The Retreat Animal Rescue's Patron

In late 2009 Heather became The Retreat Animal Rescue's Patron.  The only candidate for our Patron was Heather due to her commitment to all animals.

Following this, Heather’s family and friends came to visit The Retreat on 13th June 2010.  A group of key members of The Retreats team were there to meet Heather’s party and show them our work and to meet the animals.

Volunteers explained their role to Heather explaining how our work covering 4 sites and caring for over 1000 animals works purely with volunteers.  This work includes Rescue work, animal care, vet runs, re-homing and rehabilitation of problem animals and providing sanctuary to those who are not able to leave.  

A vegan feast was put on and the afternoon disappeared into laughter and chat.  We are so pleased that Heather, her team and The Retreat have come together to highlight the help needed for animals everywhere.
