Cat & Dog Fur Ban
19th June 2007 - Victory
EU Ban the Import and Export of Dog & Cat Fur from China
Heather Mills
On June 19th 2007 the European Parliament voted unanimously to ban the import and export of Cat and Dog fur from
China into the European Union by December 31st, 2008. 800 MEP’S voted to stop this brutal trade. This was a huge victory for animal rights as it is estimated that this ban will save the lives of over two million cats and dogs each year, cruelly killed for their fur to supply the European market.
A very warm thank you to everybody who signed our online petition where we collected over 250,000 of your signatures, contributing to an amazing 1,000,000 strong petition which forced the EU commission to take action.

Please take a look at our storyboard detailing how this hard fight was won. People power won the day and proved once again that we can all make a positive difference in this world by uniting together in numbers and saying no to the inhumane treatment of animals all over the world and to injustice everywhere.
