Heather visits Animal Friends Croatia : 16th November 2007
Heather visited Croatia and was really pleased to spend some time with the dedicated and very lovely team at Animal Friends. Heather knows and loves this country and it’s people very much and was delighted to show her support for the growing animal rights and vegetarian movement there.
Heather had a very interesting and rewarding chat with members of the team at Animal friends about animal protection rights in Croatia. She praised the excellent work that has been carried out here in securing a legal ban on breeding animals for fur and for the nationwide ban on the import of seal fur. Heather offered her full support and experience for the ongoing campaign for a ban on the import of Chinese dog and cat fur and is keeping her fingers tightly crossed that this ban will also be implemented very soon.
Heather shared her campaign experiences with the team and was on hand to answer any questions that arose and give any help advice or encouragement where it was needed.
Heather was greatly encouraged to hear of further increases in the number of vegetarians and vegans in Croatia. There is a long way to go in the fight to end animal cruelty but this country with the help of this dedicated team is winning some vital victories for the animals. As awareness is being raised of these vital issues, people are beginning to say no to animal cruelty in Croatia and yes to a healthy new cruelty free existence.

We were highly delighted, realising in this little time we spent with you that you are a really kind, modest and gracious person, and we would like to meet with you again, hoping that we can cooperate in our actions for the animals.
It will be a pleasure working with you and Viva! against the cat/dog fur trade, on the Croatian legislation regarding the ban of animals bred for fur and sending out a message on vegetarianism (veganism) to the Croatian citizens!
