The Compassionate Visionary Award

On the 23rd January 2010, Heather was awarded "The Compassionate Visionary Award" by Mercy For Animals. They are honouring Heather for all of her outstanding work on behalf of farmed animals, including her new vegan food line, for her inspiring work with the Hunts Point Alliance for Children in the Bronx, and numerous other public actions she has taken against factory farming and to promote veganism, and for all her wonderful projects such as opening her own vegan restaurant, V-Bites.

Mercy For Animals is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit animal advocacy organization. Founded in 1999 and over 35,000 members and supporters strong, MFA works to create a society where animals are treated with the respect and compassion they so rightly deserve.
